The future of the natural gas industry looks promising with the recent discovery of oil in Kenya. Tullow and Africa Oil, joint companies in the discovery, have explored the East Africa Rift Basin since 2012. Their latest drilling has brought their total of viable findings to a whopping 300m barrels. Kenya has nearly fifty blocks (50), forty-four (44) of which are licensed to companies such as ExxonMobil and Chevron. The Kenyan government is working to offer additional blocks soon.
